Learning to Read Tarot Cards
Learning to read tarot cards is fun and easy as long as you have the right tools to help you learn.
As a tarot card teacher for over 20 years, I’ve found that the place most people get stuck while they are trying to learn to read tarot cards, is understanding the actual meanings of the individual cards. If this is where you are having trouble, then I believe you’ve finally found the right place to get help.
Reading tarot cards is an intuitive process. This means that there really is no wrong or right meaning for each tarot card. I know how confusing it can be when you have a couple of different books about tarot cards and you soon realize that each book has similar and conflicting meanings for the cards. This is because each book is actually just that authors personal interpretation of the cards.

In order to really learn to read tarot cards, you must first learn to trust your intuition.
There are exercises and meditations and books that can help you learn to trust your intuition.
Here are some excellent books that I recommend to help people develop their intuition.
Intuition Workout: A Practical Guide to Discovering and Developing Your Inner Knowing
Unlock Your Intuition: How to Accurately and Reliably Access Your Most Valuable Resource
Choosing the right tarot card deck is also very important for learning to read tarot cards.
I always require my tarot card students to start out with one of the Rider-Waite decks. The reason for this is simple. There are literally thousands of different tarot deck available. Almost all of them are directly based on the images and symbolism found on the Rider-Waite decks
Once you learn to interpret from the images on the Rider-Waite deck, you can then use that knowledge to read acurately from almost any other tarot deck.

What the heck is this blog about???
I would like this blog to be a place where people who are interested in tarot cards can visit to learn a little something, contribute a little something…just hang out and have fun with like minded people…
Of course for that to happen I need a few more people besides just me visiting…lmao
Right now I’m just pretty much talking to myself, and I’m okay with that too…Whenever someone would ask my Great-Grandmother why she was talking to herself, her reply was always…”well, sometimes you just have to consult the wisest person in the room.”
I always loved that…and have used it myself a time or two.
I would really like this blog to be a place where people who are studying the tarot, to be able to come and get their tarot questions answered. Now, of course, in order for that to happen I need to stop talking to myself and get a few people out there in cyber-space to say hello and let me know what kind of questions they have about their tarot experience.
This blog is for every level of tarot card enthusiast, from beginner to expert…so hey all you experts out there…say hello, if you have some advice for newbies, here is a place to give it up!
I would love to have some guest tarot experts, maybe write a post or let me do an e-mail interviews, so that if there is anyone out there…They can see how different people have different approaches…
So this is a call out to anyone out there with a question, an answer, suggestions, advice…to post a comment so we can get this party started!
Peace,
Mystic Mama
Tarot Card Deck Review- The Morgan-Greer Deck
I have to admit that this is one
of my all time favorite tarot
decks. I love the bold colors on the illustrations and the imagery itself.
I use this deck for readings probably more than any other deck I own. The symbolism is based on the classic Rider-Waite deck, so it is a deck that clients recognize and tarot card readers find easy to adapt to even if they’re still in the learning stages.
The psysical feel of this deck is awesome. The cards are just the right thickness and have a very nice and long-lasting protective coating. The shape and size of this deck is makes it very easy to shuffle and deal.
Over- all I give this deck a rating of 5 out of 5 Stars.

Do You have to be Psychic to read tarot cards?
I get asked this question all the time…For hundreds of years con-artists and scammers told this lie to clients, just to keep them comming back and spending more money getting readings from them.
The fact that people still believe that they can only get a “real” tarot cards reading from a so-called “psychic” just shows us how deeply that myth is ingrained in the mythology of tarot cards.
The truth always has been, that tarot cards are read through a combination of understanding the sybolism of the artwork on the cards and the tarot card reader’s natural intuition.
Intuition is something all humans have. We are all born with it. Some of us work hard to develop a better understanding of our natural intuition and that in itself can make one person better at reading tarot cards than another…but the reality is that anyone can develop their intuition and make it stronger…tapping into ones natural intuition is a skill, a learned skill, just like reading or writing or cooking dinner.
Using cooking as an example. Anyone can cook. That doesn’t mean they can cook well. No, being a good cook takes time and study and practice. After studying recipes and cooking techniques and then with a lot of practice anyone can become an really good cook.
Like anything else, some people are just naturally better at cooking than others. Not everyone can be a world class Chef, but just about everyone can cook.
The tarot is a skill, like cooking. With lots of study and practice anyone can do it.
